Heartburn

Heartburn is a burning sensation in the central chest or the upper chest abdomen. It is also called as acid indigestion.
The pain may get often worse on lying or bending down. Normally the human body consists of three humor (Vata ,Pitta and kapha). Acid reflux caused due to alleviation of the pitta humor in the body. It symbolizes fire and features are hot, sharp, intense, acidic, and pungent in nature. It is located in the stomach.

Causes:

  • smoking.
  • being overweight or obese.
  • consuming caffeine, chocolate, or alcohol.
  • eating spicy foods.
  • lying down immediately after eating.
  • taking certain medications, such as aspirin or ibuprofen.

Symptoms:

  • Pain in your chest when you bend over or lay down.
  • A burning feeling in your throat.
  • Sore throat.
  • Chronic cough.
  • Persistent nausea and vomiting.

Risk Factors: 

Spicy food.

Tomato ketchup.

Stress.

Pregnancy.

Large or fatty meals.

Endoscopy

PH-Testing.
